Alternative provision should create a pathway forward.

For some learners, the most appropriate next step will be a return to mainstream education. For others, it may be specialist provision, college, vocational training, employment or a different pathway.

Thrive works towards the learner’s next appropriate destination from the beginning of the placement.

Our transition approach

We build confidence and attendance, increase learning tolerance, develop independence, strengthen communication and emotional regulation, and identify the strategies that help the learner succeed.

When the next setting is identified, we can support transition through information sharing, preparation visits, visual preparation, transition plans, meetings with receiving staff and sharing successful strategies where appropriate.

Reintegration

Where reintegration into mainstream or specialist education is appropriate, Thrive works with the learner, family, Local Authority and receiving setting to make the move as successful as possible.
