Choosing an alternative education placement can feel daunting.

At Thrive, we want families to understand what we do, why we do it and how we will support their child.

We provide personalised education for young people who are finding mainstream education difficult to access. Our staff take time to understand each learner and build a positive relationship before gradually increasing expectations.

What can a day at Thrive look like?

A typical day will include structured learning, breaks, pastoral support and opportunities for practical or enrichment activities depending on the learner and site.

The exact timetable is personalised and may be adjusted as the learner develops confidence, independence and tolerance for learning.

Working with families

We believe parents and carers know their child best. We want to understand what works at home, what causes difficulties and what the family wants education to achieve.

We communicate regularly with families and involve them in reviews and transition planning.

What happens next?

When a learner is referred to Thrive, we review the available information and consider whether our provision can meet their needs safely and appropriately. Where appropriate, we arrange an introduction, visit or transition activity before the placement begins.
